Sven Davis

Shakespeare Santa Cruz has announced the appointment of Sven Davis as interim managing director for the festival's 2001 season. Davis takes over the position from the current managing director, Paul Hammond. Hammond, who has served as Shakespeare Santa Cruz's managing director since its 1994 season, will return to that position in August of 2001 following a six-month leave of absence.

Davis has served as the UCSC music facility and production manager for the last five years. His background covers a wide range of experience with such Bay Area theater and music performance organizations as the Cabrillo Music Festival, Tandy Beal and Company, the Cabrillo Stage, Berkeley Repertory Theater, Dancing Cat Records, New Music Works--and Shakespeare Santa Cruz.

This summer season's productions will be Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth, and She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith.
