October 18, 1999 Publications Michael Hutchison Michael Hutchison is coeditor of the new book, Fiscal Aspects of European Monetary Integration (Cambridge University Press, 1999), which analyzes empirical, theoretical, institutional, and political aspects of the design and impact of fiscal policy in Europe. Topics include the need for and consequences of fiscal coordination constraints on national deficits and debt levels, the role of fiscal federalism and insurance, and the importance of coordinating fiscal and monetary policies. Hutchison's coeditors are Andrew Hughes Hallett and Svend E. Hougaard Jensen.
