UC MBEST Center offers insights
on economic development
Lora Lee Martin, director of the UC
MBEST Center, was invited to write the lead article for the Spring
2004 issue of Economic Development America, a magazine published
by the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of
Commerce. The focus of this issue of the magazine is "Regionalism:
Maximizing Effective Partnerships for Economic Development."
Martin's article is entitled "Expanding Boundaries - Opportunities
for Innovative Regional Economic Development Strategies."
UCSC established the Monterey Bay Education, Science, and Technology
(MBEST) Center as a cornerstone of the Fort Ord redevelopment effort.
MBEST focuses on developing collaborative research-business opportunities
in the Monterey Bay Crescent region.
