Awards and Honors
Audrey Stanley, professor emerita of theater arts, received a Gail Rich
Community Award as a scholar and theater director. She also recently directed
a prepared reading of Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida for the
Shakespeare Association of America's Annual Conference in Minneapolis.
Stanley is the founding artistic director of Shakespeare Santa Cruz. She is currently an associate director of SSC, as well as a member of the board of directors.
Hiking in the Sierra Nevada, a book by Hindi and Urdu Lecturer John Mock and Kimberly ONeil, was named the winner of the 2002 National Outdoor Book Award for Best Adventure Guidebook.
Published by Lonely Planet Publications, the book was chosen by a panel of educators, academics, book reviewers, authors, editors, and outdoor columnists from throughout the country. The National Outdoor Book Awards is the outdoor worlds largest and most prestigious book award program.
