Ellen Moir, director of UCSC's New Teacher Center, will be a keynote presenter
during a virtual conference on beginning teachers
and their needs that is being hosted by the National Education Association. The New
Teacher Center's work will be highlighted during the conference, which takes place
January 17-February 7.
Moir was also an invited guest of Secretary of Education Richard Riley at the recent
U.S. Department of Education's National Conference on Teacher Quality. Moir and local
educators reported on school-university partnerships and the center's work on teacher
support. The conference took place January 9-10.
