Sandra Chung appointed to new position of faculty assistant in the Campus Provost's Office

Linguistics professor Sandra Chung has joined the Office of the Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor as faculty assistant. This part-time appointment has been created to assist the campus provost and executive vice chancellor with academic personnel reviews. Creation of such a position was recommended in a recent external study of the campus organization.

Since joining UCSC in 1987, Chung has served as a member of the Committee on Privilege and Tenure; director of the Linguistics Research Center; chair of the Linguistics Department, chair of the Philosophy Department; member of the Charges Committee; chair and member of the Committee on Academic Personnel; and member of the UC Merced Committee on Academic Personnel.
