Susan Welte is new CAO at Oakes and College Eight

Susan Welte has been appointed to the position of college administrative officer for Oakes College and College Eight. She begins work on January 5.

Welte comes to UCSC from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California, where she served as vice president for student affairs from 1986 to 2003. Before joining Notre Dame de Namur, she served as assistant director of housing and operations and also as assistant director of housing, staff, and program development at the University of San Francisco.

"I look forward to working with the staff and students at College Eight and Oakes College," said Welte. "My vision for the colleges is to create a culture of inclusion where value-added learning, talent enhancement, and commitment to personal development are central to the students' educational experience and academic success."
