New isotope laboratory takes campus to 'new level'

State-of-the-art facilities for isotope analysis in UCSC's new W. M. Keck Isotope Laboratory will benefit researchers in a wide range of fields, from environmental toxicology to oceanography. "Thanks to the generosity of the W. M. Keck Foundation, UC Santa Cruz's research capabilities have achieved a new level, making the campus a center of excellence in the region for trace metal analysis," said Acting Chancellor Martin M. Chemers at the dedication ceremony and symposium. More

Student profile: Alexis Spencer, who graduated in June with honors in psychology, was recruited by her professors for three different research projects. "I’ve always been interested in how the mind works," she says.
