Literature professor Nathaniel Mackey has received a 2006 National Book Award in the poetry category for his latest book, "Splay Anthem." New statistical approach could improve hospital care for sick newborns

The National Institutes of Health has provided $1.35 million to a team of researchers working to develop new statistical approaches that could dramatically improve the care for severely ill newborns.
