UCSC posts record $128.5 million in research funding
UCSC researchers continued an upward trend in research funding by attracting a record $128.5 million in external grants and contracts to the campus in the 2005-06 fiscal year. More than 79 percent of the awards were from the federal government. (More)

Interdisciplinary center to study marine microbes
UCSC is one of six partner institutions in a new interdisciplinary science and technology center that will focus on the microbial inhabitants of the sea. The Center for Microbial Oceanography Research and Education is based at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. (More)
