$2.7 million grant to fund stem cell research at UCSC

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine has approved a $2.7 million grant to fund a stem cell research facility at UCSC. More freshmen than expected say they plan to attend UCSC

About 4,200 freshmen--several hundred more than had been expected--have indicated they plan to enroll at UCSC in the fall.
