High-tech tags on marine animals yield valuable data


Seals, sea lions, tuna, and sharks equipped with high-tech sensors are doing their part for science by relaying key information on the animals and their ocean environment. Anti-spam efforts to protect kids, deter fraud developed

An antispam registry developed as a UCSC student project has been implemented in two states as part of child protection legislation. Another UCSC research project takes aim at those who trawl the Internet for e-mail addresses to add to their spam mailing lists, often used for fraudulent purposes. (More)
