October 8, 2001 AppointmentsAlma SifuentesAlma Sifuentes is the new director of residential and dining services. Prior to taking this position, she served as the college administrative officer of Stevenson College for seven years. Sifuentes has a B.A. in economics from UCSC and an M.A. in public policy studies from Duke University. She has over 11 years experience in higher education administration with work in student life, retention, student development, student leadership, and academic success. Sue Matthews Kevin Browne Browne's experiences include national and international enrollment management and teaching appointments. He comes to UCSC from the Fielding Graduate Institute in southern California where he served as the director of enrollment and student services. His prior experience includes university outreach in Japan, England, Kuwait, Turkey, and many other countries; assistant vice president for enrollment services at the American University in Cairo; and university registrar and director of admissions and university outreach at California State University, Los Angeles. Browne has also held teaching appointments at the American University in Cairo and Purdue University. Regents appointments announced Governor Davis announced the appointments of Monica Lozano and Norman Pattiz as members of the Regents of the University of California. Lozano, of Los Angeles, is president and chief operating officer of La Opinion newspaper. Pattiz, of Beverly Hills, is founder and chairman of the board of Westwood One, America's largest radio network. The appointments are subject to Senate confirmation. Full press release
