Physicist gives 60-second explanation of Higgs boson

Howard Haber, professor of physics, described the Higgs boson in the "explain it in 60 seconds" feature in the August issue of Symmetry magazine.

Symmetry is a joint publication of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The "60 seconds" feature appears on the back cover of each issue.

Haber's explanation of the Higgs boson, a theoretical particle that physicists have so far not been able to observe, is available online.
