Community TV to show event featuring Rep. Maxine Waters

A cablecast of the 2007 Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation, featuring U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, will air in April on Community Television of Santa Cruz County.

Congresswoman Waters, an outspoken opponent of the war in Iraq and a staunch supporter of voting rights, addressed the convocation on February 20. (See Currents story)

The cablecast, which runs an hour and 23 minutes, will be shown at the following times:

April 17, 6:30 p.m.
April 17, 1 p.m.
April 20, 9 p.m.
April 22, 2:30 p.m.

The campus-community convocation is funded by UCSC's Office of the Chancellor. Cosponsors include the city of Santa Cruz, the Santa Cruz Branch of the NAACP, and the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
