Foundation awards poetry grant to Nathaniel Mackey

The Foundation for Contemporary Arts has awarded literature professor Nathaniel Mackey a nonrestrictive poetry grant for 2007.
He is one of only 10 individuals in the United States and abroad who received $25,000 grants from the foundation for artistic work. The recipients were selected by foundation directors and members of the arts community from confidential nominations submitted by noted artists and arts professionals.
Founded and guided by artists, the foundation’s encourages, sponsors, and promotes innovative work in the arts created and presented by individuals, groups, and organizations. Artists working in dance, music, theater/performance arts, poetry, and the visual arts are awarded nonrestrictive grants for projects of their own choosing.
