Campus hosting systemwide staff council meeting
UCSC's Staff Advisory Board is playing host to the Council
of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) December
8-9.
Members of the campus community are welcome to sit in on the
council's quarterly meeting, which will include speakers from
the Office of the President as well as presentations by UCSC
faculty members. Associate Vice Chancellor Jean Marie Scott
will also present a new staff award to Myriah Jasper, an assistant
human resources partner. Those planning to attend are asked
to contact Pamela Edwards, at pedwards@ucsc.edu,
or call (831) 459-3810, in case extra seating is required.
Thursday's session, at the University Center Alumni
Room, begins at 8:30 a.m. The presentations are:
8:30 a.m. John Barnes, director of campus planning, on UCSC's

10:15 a.m. Staff Advisory Board's presentation of the Outstanding
Staff Award
10:45 a.m. Michael Reese, UC associate vice president, University
Affairs, on the UC
for California Alliance
1:30 p.m. Gina Dent, associate professor of feminist studies,
on campus diversity efforts (see earlier

Friday's session begins at 9:30 a.m. at Long Marine
Lab's La Feliz Room. Presentations include:
9:30 a.m. Linda Williams, associate president, UC Office of
the President, with updates from the Office of the President
11 a.m. Faye Crosby, UCSC Academic Senate chair, on faculty
and staff working together to effect change
1:30 p.m. David Bell, staff adviser to the UC Regents, on his
role with the Regents and the selection of the next staff adviser
