Arts faculty included in exhibit of outdoor
painting at Museum of Art and History
UCSC faculty are among the artists who will be showing their
work in the courtyard of the Museum
of Art and History (MAH) on Saturday and Sunday, July 8
and 9. The exhibit, titled Plein Air Affaire 2006: Outdoor Painting
in Scenic Santa Cruz County, includes more than 150 paintings
by 47 artists. The event includes demonstrations and work for
Galuszka, and Jennie
McDade, all Art Department faculty, and Charles
Prentiss, a recent artist-in-residence on campus, are among

The Museum of Art And History is located at the McPherson Center,

Week of June 20: Artists will be on location,
painting in Santa Cruz County.
Friday, June 30: Off the Wall @ MAH! A
sneak preview and outdoor theater experience in Abbott Square,
from 8:30 to 10 p.m. In this piece, the Plein Air artists, their
work, and their thoughts become themselves a work of art -- larger
than life images projected onto the exterior wall of the museum
-- in a multifaceted look at the creative process.
Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9: Plein air
paintings on display at Abbott Square (museum courtyard) during
free public art exhibition, demonstration, and sale from 11
a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, July 9: Art workshop for kids on landscape
painting, with Celeste Baross. Reservations required; call (831)
