Women's rugby team in Division II championship

The UCSC Women's Rugby Club has advanced to the Division II Collegiate Championship games with a series of stunning wins. They will play Plymouth State University of New Hampshire for the championship on May 6 at 10 a.m. at Stanford University.

On the way to the championship game, UCSC defeated Western Oregon University at Western Oregon by three points, which qualified them for the Elite 8 tournament in Orlando, Florida. At the Elite 8, they defeated Denison University from Ohio 36-7 to advance to the next round. In the semis, they defeated the College of William and Mary of Virginia 32-29. This is the furthest the team has ever advanced in the playoffs.
