Exhibit of Indonesian masks at Porter College
"Gods and Demons, Monkeys and Men: Balancing the Cosmos
in Southeast Mask Performance" is the title of an exhibition
of Indonesian masks and costume at the Porter College Faculty
Gallery.
There will be a public lecture and opening reception for the
exhibit on Thursday, November 18, at 3 p.m. Sunil Kothari, noted
Indian scholar, will speak on Indian dance traditions and impacts
on Southeast Asia. A seminar on masks of Southeast Asia and
theater applications is scheduled for January 11 at 7 p.m.
The exhibit will be open through December 9 and reopen for
the week of January 5 through 11. Fall-quarter hours are Thursday
through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.; winter-quarter hours are
Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information,
