The UCSC Music Department presents the impressive oratorio Le roi David, or King David by 20th-century French composer Arthur Honegger for two nights only in the Music Center Recital Hall on November 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. Nicole Paiement will conduct members of the UCSC Orchestra, the combined vocal forces of the Chamber Singers and the UCSC Concert Choir (over 100 voices!), plus faculty and guest soloists.
Paiement has assembled the university's top singers and a roster of recognized area soloists including UCSC faculty singers Patrice Maginnis (soprano) and Brian Staufenbiel (tenor), plus guest artists Michele Rivard (mezzo-soprano), UCSC professor emerita of theater arts Audrey Stanley as the Prophetess, Reg Huston as the Narrator, and local sixth-grader Jonathan Grey (soprano).
