Classes offered in CPR, Wilderness First Aid

The Recreation Department has added a new CPR class called American Heart - Heartsaver. The class will be held on Friday, November 5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the OPERS Conference Room at the East Field House. The cost: $22 for UCSC students and Wellness Card holders; $27 for others. A Wilderness First Aid/WFR Recertification class will be offered on Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Stevenson College, Room 175. This course covers the basics of emergency care with emphasis on extended care situations. A wilderness first aid card is awarded on completion of course. This course may be used to recertify WFR cards from WMI, NOLS, SOLO, WMA or WPT. The cost is $110 for UCSC students; $160 general. For more information, contact Mark McCarroll at (831) 459-2806
