Reception for Acting Chancellor Chemers
Margaret Delaney, interim campus
provost and executive vice chancellor, was among those
honoring outgoing Acting Chancellor Martin M. Chemers
at a Jan. 28 reception at University Center. Members of
the campus community were joined by elected officials,
including Santa Cruz City Councilwoman Emily Reilly, State
Assemblyman John Laird, and former State Senator Bruce
McPherson. Ken Feingold, president of the UC Santa Cruz
Foundation, and UC Alumni Regent Gary Novack also spoke

Also honored at the reception and
presented with a bouquet was Martin Chemers' wife, Barbara
Goza, director of research and evaluation at the Educational
Partnership Center.

Assistant Chancellor Bill
Hyder, center, was among those singled out for special
praise by Acting Chancellor Chemers.

Senate Chair Alison Galloway presented
a gift to the acting chancellor from the faculty. Acting
Chancellor Chemers also received proclamations from the
Santa Cruz City Council and the state Legislature

Manager Ed Titus, representing the Staff Advisory Board,
presented a gift to Acting Chancellor Chemers. |
